Congenital absence of the skin: a case series report

Abstract Background Extracranial congenital skin defects, defined as aplasia cutis congenita (ACC), are a rare clinical entity. The form of presentation varies among patients according to the causal agent and point during pregnancy at which defect occurs. We present series cases noncranial ACC, analysing its possible etiopathogenesis evolution lesions. Materials methods This is retrospective review extracranial ACC tertiary hospital. Case Patient 1 full-term newborn monochorionic diamniotic gestation with death one foetus 14 weeks gestational age. Physical examination revealed two defects located on posterior aspect both thoraco-abdominal flanks. 2 presenting an ulcer nasal tip cephalic extension follow-up ultrasound. 3 twin feticide due encephalocele, lateral proximal third her right leg. associates severe oligohydramnios premature rupture membranes breech presentation. 4 left antecubital fossa no relevant history. Conclusion analysis obstetric history lesions helps guide aetiopathogenic diagnosis defects. increased intracompartment pressure in limbs related severity musculoskeletal nerve involvement.
